Music Ministries
From the contemporary worship team at the By the Well Service to the chancel choir and hand bell choir that serve at the Traditional services, we offer many opportunities to worship and serve in music at FMC Midlothian. Our music ministry is always open to new talent and those that want to share their love of the Lord through music!
Chancel Choir
If you have a love for music, love to serve by using your talents for the Lord, can commit to a few hours a week, then our choir is for you! We welcome young adults through senior adults. We are also always looking for soloists, duets, trios and more. If you would love to share your talent either by singing, or playing an instrument, please contact Laurie Duke, Director of Traditional Music Ministries at lauried@fumcmidlo.org.
We have two traditional services at FMC Midlothian. Our chancel choir sings in the 8:30 AM service, and is led by Laurie Duke. Our 11 AM service is led by Laurie Duke, with Vicky Massey on piano. If you would like to sing with us for special occasions only, we welcome you GLADLY!!! We do have a few special services that the choir participates in yearly. Easter Sunday morning, Christmas Cantata during the month of December, and the Christmas Eve services.
Praise Team – By the Well Band
Our Praise Team performs each Sunday in the “By The Well” Contemporary Service at 11 am. It is comprised of musicians with various gifts and talents, including but not limited to vocals, guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. Some band members may look different from week to week, because they serve on rotation. The Praise Team is led by Jason Westbrook and practices Sunday Mornings, before worship. Handbell Choir
The FMC Hand Bell Choir rehearses on Monday evenings.. We are always seeking new members including youth and adults of all ages. The Hand Bell Choir performs at least once per quarter and for special seasons like Easter and Christmas. If you can read music, then you can play hand bells! Rehearsals are held during the normal school year, and we take a break from rehearsals during the summer months. For more information, contact Laurie Duke: lauried@fmcmidlothian.org.
Children’s Choir
Our Children’s Choir meets during the school year on Wednesday evenings. All children in grades 1st-5th grade are welcome to attend. Come and learn more about God and His love through singing! Instrumental Ensemble
