Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

What Do We Believe?

  • God, who is one, is revealed in three distinct persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus; and his life, death and resurrection demonstrates God’s redeeming love.
  • The Holy Spirit is God’s present activity in our midst.
  • We’ve been made in the image of the Creator.
  • The church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.
  • We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is the primary authority for our faith and practice.
  • The kingdom or reign of God is both a present reality and future hope.
  • The holy scriptures are our primary resource that helps us to understand and interpret our faith. Additionally, we look to tradition, experience and reason to further our understanding.
  • The Methodist Church recognizes two sacraments in which Christ himself participated: baptism and communion.

Our Mission

Before His ascension, Jesus gave a final commission to his disciples and thus His church. He said,
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach the new disciples to obe all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of age.” (Matthew 28:19-20). Therefore, it is our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!

What is a Disciple?

We believe the defining marks of a disciple of Jesus Christ is best seen in three critical relationships modeled by Jesus. Our love for God, our love for the church and our love for the world. Jesus modeled how we live faithfully concerning each of these relationships. Each relationship is unique and our investment in each may look different at different times. We challenge one another to invest in each of these relationships as Jesus did as we:
